Big Springs Shooting Complex was established in 2005 by Brownells, Inc. for the purpose of providing a premier shooting facility for law enforcement agencies, shooting clubs/camps, youth groups, and private citizens. Big Springs utilized Musco Lighting, the biggest name in sports lighting in the world. An additional bonus is the fact that the shooting range faces north. Therefore, in daylight hours, shooters never have to look into the sun. The range also features state-of-the-art technology, and is on the cutting edge of shooting range accessories. The area’s newest shooting range, the range includes facilities for open shotgun and five-stand sporting clays. A trap and skeet field includes skeet buildings with high and low houses, and remote-controlled trap machines. Some 17 acres are dedicated to roads and shooting ranges, with more ground dedicated to native prairie grass.
