April has been declared Iowa Wine Month by Governor Branstad.
Some interesting facts are behind this recognition of the Iowa Wine Industry. Today, there are 100 native Iowa wineries and about 300 vineyards covering 1,200 acres in Iowa. Iowa wines now account for about 6% of total wine consumption in Iowa.
