We will bottle one of our last batches of Red, White, & Blue® for the season and work on getting Cranberry ready to bottle.
With the start of harvesting approaching in August, this is the time of year that we start planning the purchasing of yeast, yeast nutrients, and other fermentation supplies. We will place our orders before August 1 to take advantage of early-bird discounts. We will also be cleaning the cellar and getting things organized including getting preventative maintenance ordered.
Finally, we use more than 180,000 bottles to package our wine during the course of the year. This is the time of year that we place orders for delivery to the Winery during the rest of 2019 and into 2020. The lead times on bottles are about 150 days and we purchase 7–8 truckloads per year so we have to plan ahead.
