Two Excellent Dry Red Wines—American Merlot and American Syrah
Tassel Ridge Winery offers a number of excellent dry red wines. Two of the best are American Merlot and American Syrah.
American Merlot is a dry red wine with red and black fruit and oaky notes on the nose. Deep in color, it has round, chewy tannins with intense flavors of cherry and blackberry and a finish that hints of oak, chocolate, and vanilla. Pair American Merlot with steak, a hearty beef stew, or your favorite cut of pork. Serve at room temperature. $20 per bottle.
American Syrah is a dry red wine that displays light oak, plum, and baking spices on the nose with black raspberry, plum, baking spices and white pepper on the palate. Made entirely from Syrah grapes and aged in French, American, and Eastern European Oak for 23 months, American Syrah pairs well with grilled meats. $20 per bottle.
