Baked Ham

Ingredients

  • 8-9 lbs bone-in smoked ham fully cooked
  • 30-40 whole cloves
  • 1 bottle molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F. Using a sharp knife, score a diamond pattern into the top of the ham, about 1/8-inch deep. Press one clove into the crossing of each diamond. With a cooking bag layered into the bottom of a baking dish or roaster, crumble aluminum foil to make three balls and place on top of bag. Place ham on aluminum balls. This raises the ham off the pan so it doesn’t burn. Pour bottle of molasses over the ham. Place ham into the oven. Baste the ham every 15 minutes using a pastry brush. Bake approximately 2 hours. Remove from oven and take off the whole cloves. Using a meat fork and spatula, remove ham from pan and place on serving platter. Baste just before slicing and serving. Will serve 8–10.
