All of our 38,500 vines have been long pruned (most of them mechanically) and now we have the Edelweiss that needs to be short pruned.
The grass in the rows between the vines is loving the rain and is growing FAST. We’ll be mowing every day we can get equipment into the soaked vineyard. We mow with a mulching 6 ft. wide mower deck that also chops up the canes that we have pruned from our vines. At this time of year, we mow all four vineyards and have to start all over again almost immediately.
Our new vines will arrive during the week of May 9 and we will start to plant immediately.
