The vineyard crew prepared their harvest estimate and because of heavy fruit loads, it looks like this will be a record harvest with significant increases in most of the varieties we grow.
But, just as the forecast was presented, we had a high wind event (with no hail) that bruised fruit in a small part of our Edelweiss blocks. The most severely damaged fruit will just fall off before harvest, but lightly damaged fruit should recover and be ready at the same time we harvest the rest of the Edelweiss. At this point, we know we will harvest less than the forecast but it will be several weeks before we have reliable numbers to hang our hats on.
Recent rain events mean that the vineyards will have to be mowed aggressively and that we will have to work to get fungicide applied quickly. We continue to tie up vines and comb certain high wire vineyards.
