The vineyard team will be working hard at removing Mulberry trees from our vineyards at Newport Lane and Tassel Ridge, replacing broken posts at both of those vineyards, and getting all of the vineyards mowed. We will be removing St. Croix vines from two blocks at Tassel Ridge in order to replace them with Verona. The first step is to cut off most of the vine and dismantle the trellis wires and pencil rods. Then, we can undertake an aggressive weed removal program. Finally, if things dry out a bit, we will start spraying fungicide.
Some of the vineyard crew are helping out in the cellar on days we bottle fizzy wines.
