Visit Tassel Ridge Winery in the heart of Iowa’s Wine Country near Leighton, Iowa, between Pella and Oskaloosa on Highway 163. Stop in to try any of our wines, browse the gift shop, tour the Winery, and explore the region.

At the Winery, taste a wonderful variety of Tassel Ridge wines, ranging from dry to sweet. Shop in the Gift Shop for wines, wine-related items, local cheese, and chocolates.

Tour the Winery and learn how the grapes grown in our vineyards become award-winning wines. When the weather is nice, take a tour of our vineyards on the Tassel Ridge Winery Grapemobile.

While you’re visiting Tassel Ridge Winery, we invite you to also explore the region because there are many unique places to visit and stay at. On the website, we have a section called “Attractions” which lists by individual towns what these places are.

For the next few weeks, we will be highlighting a few towns at a time. This week, the focus is on Oskaloosa, Kalona, Sigourney, and Eddyville.

Oskaloosa
Some unique places to see include: Lake Keomah State Park, the Nelson Pioneer Farm and Museum, and the Southern Iowa Speedway; places to shop: The Book Vault and Shady Lodge Mercantile and Trading; and a place to stay: McNeill Stone Mansion Bed and Breakfast.

Kalona
Kalona’s living history is seen daily in the culture of the area’s horse-and-buggy Amish. There are authentically restored buildings from the 1800s. Check out the Kalona Creamery Shop and Deli, Kalona Historical Village, and the Kalona Historical Quilt and Textile Museum. Tours are available.

Sigourney
Visit the Dumont Museum with over 30,000 square feet of variety with collectibles for the entire family to enjoy. It is the lifetime collection of Lyle and Helen Dumont with some additional items donated or on loan.

Eddyville
The Eddyville Raceway Park is open most Friday and Saturday nights from May to mid-October.

Check the links above for more details about all of these places.
