Known as the Quilt Capital of Iowa, Kalona is the home of the Quilt & Textile Museum located in the Kalona Historical Village Welcome Center. The museum features two galleries, one containing Amish quilts and the other English quilts (those who are not Amish), showcasing quilt history of the Midwest and beyond. Quilts in the collection date from the early 1800s. New exhibits are created three times a year with a variety of different themes, so if you have visited the museum in the past, chances are you will discover something new with each visit.
