We collected samples of grapes on Monday to determine the juice chemistries and to decide which to harvest first. We also moved the harvester, the tractor and its trailer, our two refrigerated box trucks, and several Macrobins to Meadowcreek where we expected to continue with harvest.
We decided that the LaCrosse and La Crescent were ready and we harvested both on Tuesday. They are only 200 feet from each other in the vineyard so we didn’t have to move equipment very far. Early this morning, we harvested Marquette which is also immediately adjacent to the La Crescent. We have nine acres of Marquette, so this was a lot of fruit to harvest.
