Relatively cool summer weather is causing the grapes to ripen very slowly this year. Brianna is usually our first grape to harvest and it is still very sour. We are thinking now that we may not start harvest until the last week of August at the earliest. Once, we harvest Brianna, Edelweiss is close behind.
We netted the Foch grapes at Newport Lane and got our grape harvest bins washed out. The harvester is washed out and ready for action. Incidentally, it is sitting in the parking lot at the Winery if you’d like to come and take a close-up look at it.
