We finished up our trellis work at Meadowcreek by walking the vineyard and reinstalling trellis wire staples where necessary. The vineyard crew also got ready for freezing weather by draining outside spigots and uninsulated lines at Maple Woods, Meadowcreek, and at Tassel Ridge Winery outbuildings.
We ran the V-Mech mechanical pruner in the short rows of the south block of Marquette in Meadowcreek Vineyard in order to get familiar with it. Everything worked pretty well. We then did some hand pruning on the H-braces where the V-Mech can’t work. Our warehouse needs some cleaning up and we’ll use a rainy or very cold day to get that done. We are also planning to do more pruning with the V-Mech, weather permitting.
