We made good progress with our Marquette vines but have a lot more to prune this week. We will take advantage of the good weather to make a first pass with the mechanical pruner and then return to manually pull out the longer canes and prune all canes down to about 24 inches in length. We will return in late April to start pruning them down to 4–5 buds per spur. After we finish pruning our nine acres of Marquette, we will move on to the St. Croix at Meadowcreek Vineyards and then to Newport Lane Vineyards for more St. Croix.
