Last week it was either rainy, or the vineyards were too soggy for our skid-steer, or it was too windy to spray. We were prevented from getting important work done. We did remove suckers and cleaned out the La Crescent at Meadowcreek.
Right now, we are trying to spray fungicide and Boron, an important micronutrient on our vines. Boron is especially important because it encourages the vines to flower. Lots of flowers can mean lots of fruit.
This week, we will finish up removing suckers from the La Crescent vines. We will install the vineyard floor sweeper on the tractor and sweep the new planting locations, and we will try it in the Steuben section of our Meadowcreek Vineyard.
Our new vines will ship from eastern Vermont on June 9.
