Last week, we hand-harvested the Foch at Newport Lane and then completed harvests of Marquette, Petite Pearl, and Crimson Pearl. We also applied fertilizer to the newly planted Foch vines at Meadowcreek.
This week, we harvested Petite Pearl and Verona at Tassel Ridge. We then moved the harvester back to Meadowcreek to harvest La Crescent. We sampled Sabrevois grapes to see if they are ready for harvest.
After harvest, we will remove weeds around the rest of the new vines and also at Meadowcreek East. We will start mowing again, removing weeds under the vines, and also removing trees and shrubs growing in the vineyards. We will also spray fungicide on the vines because we are seeing some Powdery Mildew and Downey Mildew because of recent rains.
