Jake Peterson is the Assistant Tasting Room Manager at Tassel Ridge Winery. He moved from North Carolina about seven months ago and started at Tassel Ridge in February. He is still getting used to the wide range of temperatures we have in Iowa. Jake worked for a country club in North Carolina.
Jake strongly prefers dry red wine and his favorite Tassel Ridge dry reds are 2018 Iowa Harvest Red and Robert Duncan® Cuvée 415. He says that he can just sit down and enjoy the 2018 Iowa Harvest Red by itself. He also recommends the Robert Duncan Cuvée 415 with a New York Strip Steak.
When asked to describe a sophisticated meal, Jake suggested starting with an elegant, smooth white wine and pairing it with lemon-butter trout and mashed potatoes with broccoli or asparagus. Maybe Iowa Candleglow® White would be that elegant white wine.
