We are getting bird kites and streamers installed in the Itasca grape blocks at Tassel in order to scare away the birds because the grapes are starting to get sweet. We removed grow tubes from the newly planted Clarion grapes and sprayed fungicide at Tassel Ridge. We got our macrobins cleaned out and ready for harvest and we ordered about 20 more macrobins to add to our stock and to replace some that have been damaged. Tomorrow, we’ll move the harvest equipment to the crush pad at the Winery. We have some equipment maintenance that needs to be done. We will be mowing almost every day so that when harvest starts, the vineyards will be clean. And, we will start testing grape varieties that ripen early like the Itasca and Brianna.
