We will continue pulling trees at Maple Woods and Newport Lane Vineyards and will be taking advantage of the ground that got softened by the recent rain storm. This is important because we have to pull the Mulberry trees out by the roots. If the ground is hard and dry, the roots just break off and if enough root is left in the ground, it will regrow and create a problem in 2–3 years.
We are also working on fixing trellises that are damaged and will be getting new vines and trellis post signs ordered. If the ground stays relatively dry through late November, we’ll get our Weed Badger out and use it to remove some tall weeds under the wires. Finally, we hope to be able to do some rough pruning in early December so we will be getting our V-Mech ready for action.
