Our vineyard crew took advantage of nice weather and made some good progress on pruning. We still have a long way to go, however.
Tassel Ridge vineyards currently extend to over 70 acres in four separate locations with 16 different varieties of cold climate grapes. We plant vines in rows with a ten foot spacing between the rows and eight feet between vines in the rows. That gives us 545 vines per acre and a total of about 38,000 vines.
Our 7 white varieties are: Edelweiss, Brianna, La Crescent, LaCrosse, St. Pepin, Louise Swenson, and Clarion.
Our 9 red varieties are: Marquette, St. Croix, Sabrevois, Petite Pearl, Crimson Pearl, Verona, Steuben, Frontenac, and Foch.
