We finished mowing the 35 acre Tassel Ridge Vineyard with our new Fischer under-vine mower. With this new machine, we can mow the grass-covered aisle between the trellises and simultaneously the strip under the trellis on both sides of the mower simultaneously. We have found that we have to move slowly through the vineyard but it is saving a lot of time. It does not get all of the weeds but it is pretty good.
We got all of the Steuben vines tied up and we have mowed this bloc with the under-vine mower. Now, we are going back and removing the rest of the weeds with a weed-eater. This week, we continued mowing the Meadowcreek vineyard with the Fischer under-vine mower.
