We have been making great use of our under-vine mower which we then follow with our little army of high school students and their weed wackers. The vineyards are not only looking better but we are expecting to get a bigger harvest of high-quality grapes. And, we are getting ready for harvest which probably won’t start until mid-to-late August by taking the mechanical harvester in for preharvest preventative maintenance.
We had to retake some petiole samples this week, fix broken trellis wires, and repair some trellis posts that had been broken during last year’s harvest.
