We are removing an old vineyard at Newport Lane. We no longer need the varieties grown at this location (Frontenac, St. Pepin, and St. Croix) because we are growing them in one of our other three vineyards. The vines are old and are hard to maintain. This vineyard is on land we lease from a farmer and he will return to growing grain in a corn-bean rotation. So, we are removing the trellis wire, posts, and vines and expect to be done with about five acres this fall.

We are waiting for parts to fix both our Hagie sprayer and our V-mech pruning equipment. We will blow out our irrigation soon and will start spraying pre-emergent herbicide.
