Our vines are welcoming the rain but they are all getting ready for a long winter’s sleep. The leaves are getting both darker and in some varieties more yellow, but are still hanging on. A couple of cold nights below 32°F and a windy day will leave the vines with no leaves and ready for winter dormancy.

Our vineyard crew continues removing Mulberry trees and replacing broken trellis posts at Maple Woods vineyard. As soon as the leaves all drop, the crew will move to Marquette and La Crescent vines at Meadowcreek Vineyard.

We continue irrigating with water from our waste water treatment lagoon in order to get its level down before we encounter freezing weather. And, we have the usual equipment maintenance work to do.
