Last week, we continued to work on vineyard clean-up. This involves removing weeds from under the vines because they compete with the vines for nutrients and water. We now have our Fischer under-vine mower operational and that speeds up the process by removing most of the weeds leaving just a little weed removal to be done with the weed wackers. Realistically, we will be cleaning up under the vines for at least two months.

We got our new Clarion vines all planted and collected petiole samples from across all vineyard blocks. Now, we will send them to a lab for analysis.

Healthy vines send up suckers from the roots each year. We remove them when we find them while weed wacking. We are fertilizing and replacing posts that have been broken.
