Many people associate cranberries with holiday dinners featuring turkey so it is only natural that our Cranberry Wine sales really surge in the fall. The Tassel Ridge Cranberry Wine is sweet but with a tart cranberry punch and a long smooth finish, it is perfect with an appetizer before the turkey dinner or as the wine for the entire evening.
We will release our 2024 Iowa Nouveau on Thursday, November 21. This will give it a few weeks to settle down after bottling. We bottled only 58 cases so it is likely to sell out quickly. A Nouveau is a French tradition that was also practiced in many areas of Europe. A rural town would solicit wine from a local winery, beef, vegetables, and bread from local businesses and they would organize a community feast that would be served outdoors in nice weather and indoors when it was cold or wet. The wine usually arrived in a barrel and it was usually a fresh wine made just weeks before the event.
