The fermentations of Catawba and Cranberry started over the weekend of April 11 & 12. We continue to monitor them.

The big news is that a pump and motor on our Crossflow Filter burned up a bearing early last week. We have removed both the pump and motor and have sent photos of them to the supplier. This happened eight years ago and it was a bad experience because both items were specially made for this filter in Italy. They were NOT in stock and had to be made and then shipped to the U.S. This time, we have our fingers crossed that we can get the new pump and motor soon. This is significant because the last step before bottling in making every wine is filtration.

This week, we will clean the cellar floors, grease the bottling line, and clean up the labeler.
